Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Purchaser to manage production materials under the direction of the Director of Purchasing, driving cost reductions and owning supplier relationships for assigned commodities.

You will handle quotations, process POs, support inventory management and consignment programs, and coordinate with suppliers to expedite material flow. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred and 2–3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with ERP systems using typical manufacturing workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase production materials and manage assigned commodities.
• Obtain quotations, follow up on orders, maintain files and databases, email reports to suppliers.
• Purchase non-inventoried items via PO requisition system.
• Manage all aspects of consignment programs.
• Expedite materials and coordinate with suppliers and Director of Purchasing.
• Correct invoicing inconsistencies and update databases as needed.
• Report major irregularities and assist with corrective actions.
• Complete special projects and seek departmental improvements to reduce total cost of acquisition.
