Job summary

UPS is seeking a Procurement Technical Analyst (PMA/DER) to support strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned procurement categories. You will analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and cost‑saving opportunities to drive continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers, support negotiations, and help ensure sourcing activities align with policies, risk management, and category regulations.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or related business functions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on findings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of sourcing and category management strategies.
• Analyze spend data, supplier performance, market intelligence, and cost‑saving opportunities within assigned categories.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and identify procurement solutions that deliver value.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier performance management initiatives.
• Participate in supplier negotiations and contract discussions to achieve favorable business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to optimize the supplier base and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor and report on category performance metrics, savings targets, and supplier effectiveness.
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with applicable regulations, company policies, and risk mitigation requirements.
• Assist in developing contingency plans and risk management strategies for assigned categories.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support procurement projects and business initiatives.
• Share insights and recommendations based on data analysis, industry trends, and stakeholder feedback.
