Job summary

Capital One's Small Business Lending Operations team seeks a Commercial Underwriter in Plano, TX to assess loans up to $10MM and support growth of small businesses. The role emphasizes risk-based decisioning, collaboration with business bankers, and adherence to policy while delivering excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in credit underwriting or related fields; a finance or accounting background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in credit administration, small business underwriting, commercial loan underwriting or commercial lending.
• Prefer 4+ years in related underwriting roles and finance/accounting background.
• Completion of formal credit training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and reviews loans up to $10MM.
• Underwrites and decis ions new loan requests, renewals, annual reviews, and credit assessments.
• Collaborates with business bankers to structure loan requests per Capital One policy.
• Ensures adherence to policies, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Delivers strong customer experience and supports end-to-end loan process.
