Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Sr. Director, Provider Partnerships to provide strategic leadership across a matrixed organization and align internal functions to advance provider engagement and measurable outcomes.

The role focuses on translating organizational strategies into actionable initiatives that improve affordability, quality, and member experience across all lines of business, while mentoring leaders and driving large-scale change.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Requires 12 years of prior relevant experience.
• Requires 6 years of prior people management experience with direct responsibility for supervising, coaching, and evaluating direct reports.
• Requires deep expertise in complex provider models, contract structures, and market-specific financial responsibility frameworks (e.g., California delegated models).
• Requires strong experience with the quadruple aim and knowledge of markets, health plan operations, product development, network management, clinical operations, finance, regulatory issues, and compliance in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a highly matrixed environment and align multiple internal functions.
• Execute provider engagement plans in alignment with enterprise and local market priorities for health systems and IPA/Medical Groups across lines of business.
• Serve as a critical connector between Blue Shield of California and its provider network and translate strategies into actionable provider initiatives.
• Mentor and coach leaders, drive large-scale change, and collaborate across BSC at all levels.
