Job summary

General Scrap Inc. seeks a Commercial Account Representative to manage scrap procurement for its Colorado Springs operations. You will source ferrous and non-ferrous materials, build supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to optimize total delivered cost while meeting production needs.

Reporting to the Director of Material Purchasing, you will analyze market trends, coordinate logistics, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Travel 25–50% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business development, commodity trading, or scrap procurement.
• Experience in scrap/metals procurement and market forecasting.
• ERP and scrap management software experience.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source ferrous and non-ferrous scrap from suppliers to support production.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships; identify new opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize value.
• Monitor markets, analyze trends, and inform purchasing strategies.
• Coordinate inbound logistics and ensure timely deliveries.
