Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a Metals Recycling Buyer II to secure high-quality retail scrap for steelmaking. You will report to the Scrap Buyer Manager and implement procurement strategies to maximize value while maintaining supplier relationships and reliable material flow.

The role requires 2+ years in scrap buying or related procurement, with a preference for a business degree. Weekly travel within the region is expected to support supplier engagement and operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in scrap buying, receiving, or related materials procurement or 2 years demonstrated sales experience.
• College degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure retail scrap metal to support steelmaking operations.
• Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate pricing/terms.
• Ensure timely delivery and quality of scrap with accurate invoicing and documentation.
