Job summary

Freehold Regional High School District is seeking an Anticipated Director of Transportation to lead the district’s student transportation program. The role requires knowledge of NJ transportation laws, Title 39, and bid procedures, along with valid CDL (B) with relevant endorsements and school transportation certification.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in transportation leadership, strong personnel management skills, and completion of NJ Criminal History Clearance.

Qualifications

• NJ School Transportation Supervisor Certification required.
• CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, plus air brake endorsements.
• Minimum of five years in student transportation field, either as Transportation Director or Transportation Supervisor.
• Thorough knowledge of Pupil Transportation/Title 39 Motor Vehicle law and related vehicle spec requirements.
• Knowledge of DOT inspection laws for transportation vehicles and NJ bid laws for contractual services.
• Ability to recruit, train and supervise Transportation Department staff.
• NJ Criminal History Clearance required.

Education

NJ School Transportation Supervisor Certification

CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, plus air brake endorsements

Minimum of five years in student transportation field experience

Knowledge of Pupil Transportation/Title 39 Motor Vehicle law and NJ bid laws

Knowledge of Division of Transportation Motor Vehicle Inspection laws

Ability to select, train and supervise personnel in the Transportation Department
