• CDL with pupil endorsement (or ability to obtain)
• Experience leading and managing teams is preferred
• Ability to supervise a large staff of employees
• Proven ability to multitask under pressure
• Experience with transportation routing software in a school environment is preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on position needs
• Excellent written and oral communication with administrators, staff, students and families
• Knowledge of policies and procedures enforcement
• Thorough knowledge of bus operations and logistics

Responsibilities

• Establish district-wide vision and department goals for transportation
• Prepare, implement and manage the transportation department budget
• Lead and manage a talented staff of professionals
• Design efficient routes for student transportation
• Oversee maintenance of a large fleet of district-owned vehicles
• Communicate effectively with administration, staff, students and families
• Coordinate student discipline matters on district vehicles
• Prepare federal and state reports as required
• Ensure compliance with laws and RSU #57 policies
• Oversee vehicle purchases and fuel/supplies/services contracts
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Operations
