Northampton County Schools seek a Chief Finance Officer to direct the district's financial operations under the Superintendent, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong controls. The role leads budgeting, accounting, payroll, and financial reporting across funds, with responsibility for audits and multi-year planning.

Reports to the Superintendent; requires a strong background in school finance, preferred advanced degrees or CPA, and eligibility for NC School Finance Officer certification.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting; accounting experience preferred.
• Graduate degrees or CPA license preferred (MPA, MBA, CPA).
• Graduation from the NCASBO School Business Director Academy preferred.
• Education must enable certification as NC School Finance Officer.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees budgeting, purchasing, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, internal audit, fixed assets and treasury.
• Establishes procedures to ensure GAAP compliance and best practices.
• Advises Board and administrators on financial resource management.
• Plans multi-year operating budgets and facilities plans.
• Prepares required financial reports for federal, state and local entities.
• Maintains Chart of Accounts and internal controls; supervises payroll system.
