Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a professional school counselor to join its educational leadership team. You will lead comprehensive counseling efforts, align services with the REACH framework, and engage students, families, and staff to promote academic and social-emotional success.

You will conduct needs assessments, implement core curriculum, and provide individual planning as part of a holistic support system for all students in the building.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling.
• Active ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counseling Endorsement.
• Ability to work with diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Create, Implement, and Evaluate a Comprehensive School Counseling Program aligned with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) REACH Framework for School Counselors.
• Conduct Annual Needs Assessments and Data Reviews to Determine and Prioritize Student Needs.
• Implement the School Counseling Core Curriculum across classroom, large group, and school-wide settings to address academic, career, postsecondary, and social/emotional needs.
• Provide Individual Student Planning Activities to help students obtain a diploma and postsecondary options.
• Provide responsive services to address barriers to academic achievement through counseling and collaboration with families and staff.
• Provide system-wide support by coordinating professional development and counseling interventions.
