Job summary

Elwyn is seeking an Executive Director of Risk Management to lead the organization’s comprehensive risk program, overseeing property, casualty and workers’ compensation, and driving safety initiatives across PA and NJ I/DD services.

You will manage insurance procurement, claims, and incident investigations, while guiding a team of professionals and coordinating with legal and compliance functions to protect the organization’s mission and assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business administration or related field; knowledge of safety and loss control processes.
• 8+ years experience with risk financing and risk control techniques for property, casualty and workers' compensation exposures.
• ARM/PRM/CSP certification highly desired.
• Minimum 5 years of strong management experience directing others.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, databases, formulas); report-writing experience encouraged.
• Experience in a unionized workforce preferred.
• Excellent analytical, judgment and written/verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements comprehensive risk management programs including risk plans, policies and procedures.
• Oversees insurance procurement, claims reporting and management, and annual renewals.
• Manages insurance broker relationships and third-party administrators.
• Designs workers’ compensation and light-duty programs; ensures OSHA compliance.
• Leads incident management and investigation processes for PA/NJ I/DD services.
• Directs risk management team focused on safety, risk management, investigations and claims.
• Reviews contracts to ensure adequate insurance coverages; supports litigation defense as needed.
• Collaborates with General Counsel to address risk and safety issues across the organization.
