Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resources Business Group Data Steward to define, share, and govern data across HDR’s Business Classes and Practices. This leadership role focuses on making data simple, reusable, and connected to HDR’s business processes.

The role reports to the Resources Business Group Technology Director, collaborates with HDR Data Operations and the Technology Leadership Team, and emphasizes driving decisions, reuse, and delivery excellence across HDR’s global operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Work as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain specific data glossary(ies) for key engineering and technical terms with business context.
• Use your technical network to build alignment and consensus around data processes, priority, and expected use.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, best practice for format, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, and lifecycle considerations).
• Work with Enterprise Data Operations to help lead a RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned across our business classes and practices.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with other BG Data Stewards, BG and Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
