Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resources Business Group Data Steward to shape how data is defined, shared, and reused across HDR’s Business Classes and Practices. This is a leadership role, not IT or compliance, enabling better decisions and delivery excellence.

The role reports to the Resources Business Group Technology Director with a dashed line to the Digital Design Lead, collaborating with HDR Data Operations and the Technology Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of strategic leadership focused on growing and leading teams in change management and data.
• Experience partnering with operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise across classes and practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossaries with business context.
• Build alignment on data processes, priority, and usage through your network.
• Promote responsible use of data including access, quality, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Lead a RBG SME network with Enterprise Data Operations to share lessons learned.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG and collaborate with BG and Enterprise teams.
• Communicate regularly with other BG Data Stewards and Data Operations staff.
