Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking a Leasing Director to oversee all leases and use agreements for the university’s real estate portfolio. This role requires strategic market insight, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage large, complex portfolios as both landlord and tenant.

The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Planning, Space, and Real Estate and focuses on systemwide leasing initiatives, contract drafting, and policy implementation across the university.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant leasing experience, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Exceptional record of commercial real estate leasing transactions; successful negotiating, drafting, finalizing leasing transactions.
• Experience in higher education real estate practices, policies, systems, and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct all leasing activities for the University of Minnesota System to ensure exceptional real estate services.
• Lead negotiations, drafting, and execution of lease agreements including various lease types.
• Provide leadership to the Leasing and Property Management Team.
• Oversee lease administration for internal and external portfolios and ensure timely rent payments and accurate records.
