Job summary

The University of Minnesota seeks a Leasing Director to oversee all leases and use agreements for its real estate portfolio and facilities. The role provides strategic leadership, negotiating expertise, and market analysis to meet university needs with favorable lease terms.

This is a 12-month, 100% time position reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Planning, Space, and Real Estate, requiring a Bachelor’s degree and extensive leasing experience with supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant leasing experience, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Exceptional record of commercial real estate leasing transactions; successful negotiating, drafting, finalizing leasing transactions.
• Experience conducting financial analysis of proposed lease transactions.
• Knowledge of higher education real estate practices, policies, systems, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct all leasing activities for the University system, including long- and short-term leases, renewals, amendments, and related agreements.
• Provide leadership to the Leasing and Property Management Team and implement systemwide policies and procedures.
• Oversee operations of managed properties and ensure maintenance, upgrades, and contracts are effectively executed.
• Direct management of internal and external lease portfolios to ensure terms are honored and payments processed on time.
