Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. Fort Wayne, IN seeks an experienced account manager to lead strategic sales efforts across assigned railroads and develop new accounts for incremental growth. You will coordinate pricing packages, negotiate tariffs, and align cross-functional resources to meet revenue targets.

Responsibilities include expanding market participation, maintaining customer satisfaction, and delivering detailed customer action plans while guiding rate negotiations and contract development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years' experience in marketing and sales, supply chain management, transportation management, or related field preferred.
• Proficient sales, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage extended and complex projects by setting milestones.
• Travel: potential for up to 25% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Develop new strategies, programs or service offerings to expand participation in relevant markets.
• Support customer satisfaction by providing timely price, service, and equipment packages.
• Achieve revenue, profitability, and volume targets for assigned accounts or markets.
• Manage day-to-day account activities and coordinate internal resources.
• Develop customer action plans and negotiate pricing and tariffs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address opportunities and issues.
• Provide accurate input for annual and quarterly carload and revenue budgets.
