Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. seeks a motivated buyer/planner to manage mass production part ordering and delivery through effective planning, ERP-driven releases, and supplier collaboration.

You will apply technical and problem-solving skills to prevent production impact and support department targets. You will build strong supplier relationships, monitor inventory, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including design changes and KPI-focused projects, while working overtime

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent related experience.
• Average experience: 0-4 years.
• Knowledge of basic inventory management and manufacturing workflow.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with limited direction.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based environment.
• Continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collect data and apply business knowledge to solve problems.
• Ability to lead project themes and secure buy-in.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Understand and maintain ERP system releases to ensure inventory levels for packaging and production.
• Establish and maintain communication with the supply base to promote delivery performance.
• Identify and resolve supplier issues to allocate resources promptly.
• Develop internal and external networks to ensure operational success.
• Collaborate with project leaders to meet KPI targets by mitigating downtime and costs.
• Manage design change activity with suppliers to minimize production impact and cost.
• Maintain root cause analysis reporting and countermeasures.
• Pursue continuous improvement through PDCA cycles in supplier ordering and change control.
