Job summary

Toyota’s Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) Buying Department seeks a data-driven Purchasing Analyst in Saline, Michigan. You will develop sourcing strategies, analyze cost metrics, and support negotiations with supplier partners to improve cost, quality, and manufacturability.

The role emphasizes analytics, scenario modeling, and cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders. Hybrid work schedule with specific on-site days and remote options is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in direct buying or related field.
• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or similar with responsibility for product/cost analysis.
• Experience with supply base strategy analysis, including scenario modeling and cost trade-offs.
• Experience with data analysis and communicating concise decision-quality insights to management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Working experience with Power BI and Power Automate.
• Working knowledge of Python and data analytics platforms.
• Hybrid schedule with onsite presence Tue-Thu and remote Mon/Fri.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies using data-driven analysis to maximize supply base efficiency and support timely decisions.
• Participate in early design work to optimize part design/manufacturing through Value Engineering analyses.
• Establish, analyze, and monitor cost metrics to drive pricing and decision-ready recommendations.
• Negotiate with Supplier Partners for cost savings/avoidance using fact-based analytics and benchmarking.
• Report accurately and on time to project milestones with clear leadership dashboards on target creation and achievement.
• Lead Annual Price Review activities with Supplier Partners focusing on cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Understand and analyze commodity market trends to inform sourcing decisions.
• Develop and manage Supplier Partner relationships and performance through KPI tracking.
