Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a procurement professional to join our hybrid team in Detroit, MI. You will collaborate with Engineering on early product development, identify strong supplier partners, and develop sourcing strategies to optimize total cost of ownership and ensure on-time delivery.

You will lead contract negotiations, cost-optimization initiatives, and risk mitigation with cross-functional teams, while upholding integrity and compliance across supplier relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, materials science, logistics, or related technical field.
• 5–7 years of procurement experience.
• Ability to engage in negotiation with suppliers and internal teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Resume attachment required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering in early product development to understand technical requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies and optimize total cost of ownership.
• Negotiate contracts including pricing, terms, and supplier agreements.
• Lead cost-optimization initiatives and vendor recovery topics.
• Represent Daimler Truck as the preferred partner to suppliers and drive risk management.
