Job summary

Futaba North America Engineering & Marketing Corp. in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to source and price materials, components, and tooling for US and Canadian plants.

You will develop supplier relationships, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms, and support engineering teams with supplier selection and cost reduction. Requirements include 3+ years of purchasing experience, automotive industry knowledge, CPP/CPSM preferred, and proficiency with ERP/MRP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years purchasing experience with strong negotiation skills.
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, OEM procurement preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office suite.
• Japanese language ability preferred; travel about 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage long-term supplier relationships for best pricing and terms.
• Evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing, timelines, and terms within budget.
• Determine best procurement method and prepare POs and bid requests.
• Interface with Engineering and vendors to meet specs for custom items.
• Identify new suppliers, assess capabilities, negotiate contracts, analyze market trends.
• Analyze procurement costs and implement cost-reduction strategies.
• Maintain communication with overseas parent company and travel as needed.
