Job summary

Yazaki North America is seeking a Sr. Cost Specialist to join the Purchasing team in Canton, MI. The role focuses on accelerating cost reduction to protect margins, analyzing supplier costs, and supporting category management in negotiations. The position is hybrid.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5-10 years in automotive purchasing, and at least 5 years in cost engineering. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, SAP, and Siemens TCPCM is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5-10 years of automotive purchasing or similar experience.
• 5 years of cost engineering experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint; SAP and Siemens TCPCM encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement processes, tools, and systems for cost reduction.
• Lead and support cost breakdowns for bottom-up calculations and analyses.
• Prepare data to identify measures for cost reduction of purchased parts.
• Support regional and global category teams with analysis and counterproposals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to reduce complexity and total cost of ownership.
• Report savings opportunities and achievements to budget owners.
• Present key projects to senior management.
