Klauber Machine & Gear Company in Pacific, MO seeks a Purchasing Specialist to source materials and services for production schedules, balancing cost, quality, and delivery. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage MRO purchasing, and coordinate external services to ensure a reliable supply chain.

This on-site role requires collaboration across departments to meet production goals, maintain supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Must have strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with MRO purchasing and inventory replenishment.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Excellent time management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with suppliers for materials, components, and services to secure pricing and terms.
• Manage MRO purchasing activities and inventory replenishment.
• Coordinate subcontracted services like heat treating and plating.
• Oversee inbound shipments with freight forwarders and brokers.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier quotations (RFQs) for cost and lead time.
• Address supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor market trends to support purchasing decisions.
• Review ERP/MRP material requirements and act on purchasing needs.
• Create and maintain purchase orders and sourcing documentation.
• Expedite supplier deliveries to prevent production disruptions.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to reduce risk.
• Support sustainability by identifying reuse/recycle opportunities.
• Maintain supplier records and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production for timely procurement.
