Job summary

Nokian Tyres plc in Dayton, TN is seeking a Purchasing Specialist reporting to the Procurement Manager. You will manage the purchase-to-pay process, place purchase orders promptly, plan material delivery schedules to meet production demand, and maintain inventory within guidelines.

You will act as a business partner to IT, HR and Finance, develop RFI/RFP packages, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate terms, analyze spend and TCO, and contribute to supplier KPI measurement and intercompany

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Purchasing / Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in operational procurement within a global manufacturing organization.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Meticulous approach and attention to detail.
• Decision-making with limited information on material demand and PO timing.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase-to-pay process in nominated categories.
• Develop (RFI/RFP) packages, evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms.
• Serve as a business partner to IT, HR and Finance to align procurement strategies.
• Plan purchase orders and delivery schedules within frame agreements.
• Analyze supplier spend, market trends and total cost of ownership to find cost reductions.
• Assess material markets and supplier stability for supply assurance.
• Handle delivery confirmations and daily supplier communications.
• Contribute to supplier KPI measurement and intercompany material flow management.
• Escalate supply issues to regional procurement and category managers.
• Deliver targeted results; perform other duties as assigned.
