Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or supply management required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Buyer/Planner coordinating purchases with vendors.
• Experience with MRP, JIT and Lean manufacturing practices; Lawson M3 a plus.
• Experience working with foreign suppliers, freight forwarders, import compliance.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel; ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Plans all purchased material requirements predicated on forecasts, orders, and inventory targets.
• Purchases products per policy, seeking bids and shortest lead times for quality and price.
• Prepares orders to vendors for raw materials, packaging, components, and services.
• Interacts daily with suppliers and logistics to meet delivery promises.
• Coordinates with production, warehouse, and supply chain for timely procurement.
• Ensures timely delivery to support the production plan and schedules.
• Assists in imports and customs classifications with vendors and brokers.
• Manages price negotiations and vendor relationships, pursuing cost reductions.
