Job summary

HB Specialty Foods in Nampa, Idaho, seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing strategies, oversee the purchasing team, and ensure timely delivery of materials for production.

You will coordinate with Planning and Quality teams, manage supplier relationships, review contracts, and drive improvements in purchasing processes.

A bachelor’s degree and five years of purchasing and team management are preferred, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of purchasing and team management experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to minimize inventory while ensuring on-time delivery.
• Manage daily purchasing activities and supervise staff.
• Coordinate with Planning team to determine inventory needs.
• Engage with suppliers on contract reviews for RM usage.
• Maintain supplier contacts, purchase records, and required documentation.
• Support Quality/Regulatory with TraceGains documentation.
• Ensure procured items meet quality standards and specs.
• Work to improve purchasing systems and processes.
• Train new employees on purchasing processes and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
