Job summary

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America seeks a Purchasing Manager to ensure material planning and purchasing align with the production plan. You will lead a 4–6 person purchasing team, coordinate Kanban and MRP activities, and partner with engineering and accounting to maintain inventory controls and timely material availability.

The role emphasizes supplier strategy development, cost reduction, and process improvements to keep manufacturing running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years related experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or inventory management.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material planning and purchasing to maximize machine build plans and keep the plant running.
• Supervise 4–6 purchasers and expeditors.
• Develop supplier strategies to ensure timely delivery, quality and supply flow of components.
• Monitor supplier on-time/delivery and adherence to schedules.
• Adjust MRP/re-order points and maintain safety stocks and lead times.
• Collaborate with accounting and engineering on inventory management as models go end of life.
