Job summary

Perry Homes is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead its purchasing functions in the Houston area, focusing on trade partner management, cost control, and operational execution. This role negotiates contracts, evaluates scopes of work, and ensures alignment between field operations and supplier agreements.

With responsibility for vendor performance and strategic supplier relationships, you will guide the purchasing team to deliver timely, cost-effective homebuilding operations across markets in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of negotiating experience, including leadership, preferably in homebuilding or construction.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the company's purchasing strategy aligned with business objectives and operations.
• Develop sourcing strategies, pricing structures, negotiation guidelines, and vendor programs to drive cost efficiency.
• Continuously evaluate the trade base and onboard new vendors to maintain a competitive supplier pool.
• Manage contract renewals, updates, and addendums in line with market conditions and company standards.
• Oversee supplier relationships, risk mitigation, performance, and continuity of supply.
• Direct complex vendor negotiations and escalations to protect company interests.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and team performance in purchasing.
• Negotiate pricing and rebate agreements with major vendors/contractors.
• Coach Purchasing Agents on pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements; review vendor documents with admin staff.
