Job summary

HistoryMaker Homes is seeking a Purchasing Agent to manage day-to-day purchasing activities and establish strategic processes. You will maintain relationships with Trade Partners, participate in contract negotiations, and ensure timely flow of information during bids for options, budgets, specs, rebates, and orders.

The role supports cost-saving strategies, national/regional supply agreements, and quarterly/annual objectives, partnering with divisional leadership and the Support Center

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Construction Management preferred.
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Proactive, self-directed and able to work with minimal oversight.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to determine root problems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all community specifications are accurate and adhered to.
• Source and evaluate new, potential contractors/vendors.
• Negotiate pricing and rebate agreements with major vendors/contractors.
• Manage contract price changes.
• Periodically adjust labor rates as necessary.
• Analyze Trade Partner performance, capacity, quality, and workload.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Trade Partners, suppliers and vendors.
• Attend industry events to maintain Trade Partner relationships.
