Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Manager to lead all purchasing activities for the Blue Oval Michigan Battery Plant (BOBM) program. You will manage direct and indirect materials, and lead a four-person team based in Marshall, MI, while participating in testing and rollout of the BOBM Purchasing System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or finance required.
• 5+ years progressive purchasing/supply chain experience.
• 3-5+ years managing direct reports.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing contact for the BOBM program.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Lead the BOBM purchasing team to place purchase orders supporting production.
• Define and implement the BOBM purchasing system and supplier onboarding.
• Collaborate with engineers and suppliers on packaging solutions.
• Monitor supply risks and translate project needs into procurement plans.
• Prepare reports on purchasing performance, savings and supplier risk.
