Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to lead the Purchasing team and drive sourcing strategies that ensure material availability and cost efficiency. This role reports to the procurement leadership and collaborates with Production, Finance, and QA to maintain smooth operations.

You will guide supplier relationships, manage performance metrics, and implement cost-saving initiatives while upholding Dixon’s values and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in purchasing or procurement; manufacturing exp preferred.
• Proficient in purchasing software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong negotiation, contract management and analytical problem solving.
• APICS CPIM/CSCP certification and familiarity with Logility.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coach, and mentor the Purchasing team and staffing needs.
• Develop purchasing strategies, optimize inventory, mitigate supply risks.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers for best value.
• Coordinate with Production, Accounts Payable, and Quality Assurance.
• Analyze market trends and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Track core metrics: PPV, OTIF, lead times, inventory turnover.
