Job summary

Magna International Limited, part of Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting, seeks a Senior Purchasing Manager for North America to shape procurement strategy and lead local sourcing.

You will drive world-class sourcing, manage supplier relations, and partner with Operations, Finance and Quality to deliver cost, quality and delivery goals. Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in automotive procurement are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
• Experience with world-class materials management practices.
• Experience in automotive procurement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides operational level strategic direction for North American purchasing team and local purchasing activity.
• Develops long-term corporate goals and translates them into short-term plans for the purchasing team.
• Maintains a quality supplier base and coordinates with suppliers and Corporate Materials to meet product development and cost objectives.
• Manages purchasing functions, leads staff, and aligns with VA/VE and cost reduction efforts.
• Ensures world-class quality and on-time delivery at a competitive cost; collaborates with multiple departments.
• Establishes planning and control measures; ensures adherence to customer requirements and contracts.
• Negotiates and oversees favorable contracts with suppliers and develops relationships across functions.
