Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Senior Commodity Buyer within the Global Purchasing Organization to help develop and implement commodity strategies across regions, aligning with the Global Commodity Director and Regional Lead Buyer.

Responsibilities include managing RFQs, evaluating supplier costs, and leading cross-functional teams to negotiate long-term agreements while monitoring market conditions and driving cost savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing field preferably in an automotive / manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time.
• Perform tasks in Magna’s IATF16949 policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Complies with ISO 14001 responsibilities related to environmental management in Magna’s EMS.
• Proven success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex automotive market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commodity strategies in coordination with the Global Commodity Director and Regional Lead Buyer.
• Manage RFQs to the supply base to support Operational Purchasing programs.
• Evaluate supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value for Mechatronics & Mirrors.
• Lead supplier long-term agreements and giveback terms.
• Coordinate supplier development and cost savings initiatives across regions and divisions.
