Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking a Purchasing Agent to coordinate procurement for projects, ensuring timely delivery, accurate costing and strong vendor partnerships. You will issue purchase orders, negotiate prices, and support accounts payable while maintaining compliance with purchasing processes.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, familiarity with electrical systems, and proficiency in REMARCABLE Purchasing and Vista Accounting software.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5–7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems (switch gear and lighting) and electrical subcontractors is preferred.
• Proficient in providing best-value analysis and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of goods and services for projects, equipment, tools, parts and supplies.
• Issue and manage purchase orders for approved requisitions and contracts.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers and monitor delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers and vendors to obtain product information and ensure timely procurement.
• Assist Accounts Payable in setting up new vendors and resolving invoicing issues.
• Maintain organized records and ensure adherence to purchasing processes.
• Travel to other offices, work sites, or local duties as needed.
