Job summary

WCP Solutions is seeking a Purchasing / Merchandiser to support Inland Region operations by buying products, managing inventory, sourcing solutions, and maintaining data accuracy. You will build strong supplier relationships, balance service levels with cost and lead times, and collaborate with Account Managers, Operations, and other teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing, procurement, merchandising, inventory management, or supply chain work.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work with reports and data for purchasing decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, monitor, and follow up on purchase orders to support customer demand and inventory levels.
• Analyze sales history, usage, forecasts, lead times, service levels, and supplier performance to guide purchasing decisions.
• Source standard, alternate, custom, and shortage-related products; compare pricing, availability, freight, and terms.
• Negotiate with suppliers to improve cost, service, and payment/freight terms.
• Maintain item master data, descriptions, costs, units, supplier info, lead times, and purchasing parameters.
• Monitor open POs, confirmations, backorders, substitutions, and delivery dates; communicate changes.
• Use purchasing, inventory, EDI, and reporting systems; identify data/process issues and support corrective action.
• Collaborate across divisions to balance inventory and reduce duplication of investments.
• Investigate shortages, receiving discrepancies, supplier claims, returns, and pricing issues.
• Support inventory reviews, cycle counts, and stock/consignment programs.
