Job summary

Wonderful Orchards LLC in California seeks a Purchasing Specialist to manage day-to-day procurement, forecast seasonal demand, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support operations without disruption. You will negotiate with vendors, review purchase orders and invoices, track receipts, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive cost savings and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain or related field.
• 0-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain stock of parts, materials, and supplies.
• Communicate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
• Build and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review purchase orders and invoices for accuracy.
• Regularly review and manage open purchase orders and receipts.
• Review and process non-inventory requisition orders.
• Forecast seasonal demands and order accordingly.
• Review slow-moving inventory to minimize waste.
• Update min/max levels and cross-reference inventory for sourcing.
• Respond to purchasing and accounts payable inquiries.
• Provide backup coverage during month-end closing.
• Assist Inventory Managers and Shop Personnel as needed.
