Job summary

VSP Technologies is hiring a Purchasing Agent to manage daily purchasing and stock replenishment on site in Virginia. You will interface with departments to align procurement with demand and ensure timely orders.

You will prepare purchase orders, liaise with vendors for best pricing, and reconcile ERP records to maintain accurate delivery schedules and inventory levels. This is a full-time on-site role offering standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy in purchasing data.
• Strong negotiation and vendor coordination skills.
• Experience using ERP systems for inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to the master list and clarify unclear items.
• Monitor purchasing needs for min/max inventory levels using the ERP system to maintain stock levels.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments.
• Maintain files and process paperwork.
• Prepare and verify purchase orders for sales needs, stocking, and re-orders.
• Communicate with vendors for favorable and timely deliveries and pricing.
• Obtain purchase order acknowledgments and match to orders in ERP for accurate pricing and delivery dates.
