Simtra BioPharma Solutions in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to partner with manufacturing and support groups to place orders and maintain supplier relationships. The role emphasizes procurement efficiency, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration to meet company goals.

The position reports to a Purchasing Manager and requires strong attention to detail, MS Office skills, and ERP system experience to optimize stock levels and reduce aging materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college/associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years in inventory/purchasing or related experience.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using enterprise software (JDE, Documentum, Pilgrim, TrackWise).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quotes and pricing information from vendors.
• Query supplier/part information in JDE.
• Maintain cost savings and inventory levels.
• Create part numbers and manage catalog data.
• Place and track orders aligned with MRP/ERP signals.
• Monitor inventory turns and reduce aged stock.
• Conduct price/cost analyses.
• Resolve PO discrepancies and invoicing issues.
• Coordinate between Receiving and vendors to resolve issues.
• Identify process improvements to cut procurement costs.
