Job summary

Lumen Mundi in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Control Specialist to manage supplier purchases and inventory to ensure on-time delivery to our business customers.

You will work with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams, maintain SAP B1 databases, negotiate with vendors, and monitor orders from placement to receipt. Strong attention to detail and 3–5 years of purchasing experience required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in Business or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years purchasing experience, ideally with 10,000+ SKUs and multi-country exposure.

Responsibilities

• Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
• Develops and maintains inventory databases in SAP B1 for supplies and materials used.
• Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
• Creates and reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
• Collaborates with sales, customer service, and warehouse departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
• Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale, and to confirm/change orders as needed.
• Purchases thousands of items; understands production orders, BOMs, and tracking in the system for accuracy.
• Follows policies to maximize efficiency and proposes process improvements.
• Liaises with warehouse staff to ensure products arrive in good condition.
