Job summary

Polaris Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to manage Parts, Garments & Accessories suppliers and coordinate purchase quantities to support on-time delivery to Polaris distribution facilities.

You will work across purchasing and demand planning, negotiate terms, resolve discrepancies, and drive inventory goals, service levels, and customer readiness. The role combines supplier management, PO execution, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in supply chain management, including logistics, procurement, material requirements planning, or inventory management.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with strong organization and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel minimally for supplier, distribution center, and dealer visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers to drive performance.
• Review system-recommended purchase quantities and collaborate with demand planning analysts to improve purchasing accuracy.
• Approve purchase orders, monitor delivery performance, and expedite orders to achieve fill rate goals.
• Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments to support business, inventory, and customer service objectives.
• Resolve backorder issues in accordance with established goals.
• Negotiate costs, lead times, minimum order quantities, and economic order quantities to benefit Polaris.
• Execute supplier cost-reduction and inventory-reduction initiatives.
• Analyze and resolve supplier invoicing and purchase order discrepancies.
• Proactively identify urgent issues and communicate them to the supervisor.
