Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to manage Parts, Garments & Accessories suppliers and support on-time product delivery to Polaris distribution facilities.

Qualifications

  • Negotiate costs, lead times, MOQs, and EOQs.
  • Execute supplier cost-reduction and inventory-reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze and resolve supplier invoicing and PO discrepancies.
  • Proactively identify urgent issues and communicate them to the supervisor.

The Purchasing Analyst manages Parts, Garments & Accessories suppliers to support the on-time delivery of products to Polaris distribution facilities. Working across purchasing and demand planning, you coordinate appropriate purchase quantities to help achieve strategic inventory, fill rate, and service-level objectives. This role combines supplier relationship management, purchase order execution, negotiation, and issue resolution to meet customer needs. You will have direct ownership of supplier performance and purchasing activities that influence product availability and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers to drive consistent performance.
  • Review system-recommended purchase quantities and collaborate with demand planning analysts to improve purchasing accuracy.
  • Approve purchase orders, monitor delivery performance, and expedite orders as necessary to achieve fill rate goals.
  • Coordinate and communicate with multiple departments to support business, inventory, and customer service objectives.
  • Resolve backorder issues in accordance with established goals.
  • Negotiate costs, lead times, minimum order quantities, and economic order quantities to benefit Polaris.
  • Execute supplier cost-reduction and inventory-reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze and resolve supplier invoicing and purchase order discrepancies.
  • Proactively identify urgent issues and communicate them to the supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional experience in supply chain management, including logistics, procurement, material requirements planning, or inventory management; purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for solving problems and improving processes.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to approach issues diplomatically and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment, with flexibility for remote work at the manager’s discretion.
  • Ability to travel minimally for supplier, distribution center, and dealer visits, including visits to remote outdoor locations.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Compensation

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $64,000 to $80,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range. To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
