Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Purchasing Agent for the Gladstone Paper Mill in VA to purchase materials, equipment and services at the lowest total cost while meeting quality and service requirements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or Procurement experience, five years in industry, strong negotiation and vendor analysis skills, and CPSM/CSCP/CSCM certifications.

Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and AS 400 is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Procurement experience required.
• Five years' experience in industrial/manufacturing purchasing preferred.
• Strong negotiation, vendor analysis and program evaluation skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook; able to learn AS 400 purchasing software.

Responsibilities

• Quotation and bid analysis; select vendors; issue POs and contracts; expediting materials.
• Coordinate with departments and vendors to obtain optimum value.
• Develop blanket orders and contracts; monitor vendor performance and annual reviews.
• Negotiate strategic supply/service agreements and drive cost savings.
