Taleo is seeking a Manager of Fiscal Affairs, Level 1, in Cambridge to lead the Police Department's fiscal operations, budgeting, accounting, reporting, procurement, and payroll-related matters. The role collaborates with City Finance, Purchasing, HR, and grant agencies to ensure compliant financial management and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in budgeting, grants, and project coordination with public sector experience, advanced Excel skills, and CPA/CGFM/CPFO

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration or related field required; master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible financial, accounting, budget, grants, procurement or fiscal administration experience.
• Public sector or nonprofit experience and staff supervision preferred.
• Professional credentials such as CPA/CGFM/CPFO preferred or to be obtained within 1 year.
• Experience with grant administration and fund accounting favored.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; Excel/Word/Outlook required.

Aufgaben

• Direct and oversee the department’s fiscal operations including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist with annual operating, capital and grant budgets; perform revenue/expense analysis and projections.
• Review financial records for compliance with city policies and procurement rules.
• Maintain financial records in city systems: AP, AR, reimbursements, purchasing, reporting.
• Coordinate year-end closeout and audits; act as primary fiscal resource for staff.
• Administer departmental grants and procurement; ensure compliance and timely reporting.
• Supervise fiscal staff; provide training and performance feedback.
• Coordinate personnel-related fiscal administration and benefits matters.
• Liaise with Retirement Board for retiree audits and related fiscal matters.
