Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, public administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• At least 10 years of growing financial management experience, including 3 years in a high-level financial leadership role.
• Knowledge of GASB principles and public sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead agency-wide strategic financial planning and modernize financial systems.
• Identify wasteful spending, renegotiate vendor contracts, and streamline workflows.
• Plan, develop, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets for the police department.
• Oversee federal, state, and local grant applications and reporting.
• Prepare periodic financial forecasts, cost analyses and variance reports for leadership.
• Maintain internal controls and coordinate external audits.
• Oversee payroll, fixed assets, and purchasing in line with local laws.
• Manage special funds like asset forfeiture and off-duty detail programs.
