Job summary

Cigna Healthcare in Chicago is seeking a Provider Contracting Advisor to join the hybrid Illinois team. The role focuses on negotiating complex contracts, driving value-based arrangements, and coordinating with Claims Operations, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, and other partners.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (MBA or MHA preferred) and at least 3 years of contracting experience, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to support local market

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required; MBA or MHA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years contracting and negotiating experience with complex delivery systems.
• Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models.
• Experience building and nurturing external provider partnerships within hospital/managed care environments.

Responsibilities

• Manages complex contracting and negotiations for fee-for-service and value-based reimbursements with hospitals and other providers.
• Builds relationships that nurture provider partnerships and seeks value-based business opportunities.
• Initiates and maintains communication with matrix partners including Claims Operations, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing and Service.
• Creates and loads provider contracts and manages network implementation and maintenance with internal partners.
