Job summary

Indiana University Health (IU Health) seeks an Advisor – Financial Expert (Provider Compensation) to serve as the enterprise-wide leader for physician and advanced practice provider compensation. You will guide design, governance, and financial oversight of compensation programs, ensuring alignment with access, quality, productivity, and value-based care.

You will partner with executive leadership, Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations to develop market-informed strategies, benchmarks, and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in physician compensation, healthcare consulting, or healthcare finance, including 5 years advising senior healthcare executives and physician leadership.
• Extensive knowledge of physician compensation methodologies, physician productivity metrics (e.g., wRVUs), and healthcare financial management.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements affecting physician compensation (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute).
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, data interpretation, and compensation modeling.
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of work RVU (wRVU) methodologies, physician productivity metrics, and value-based compensation models.
• Advanced expertise in physician compensation strategy and governance.
• Strong business acumen and financial modeling capabilities.
• Ability to influence executive and physician stakeholders in complex environments.
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Serve as enterprise-wide strategic leader and subject matter expert for physician and advanced practice provider compensation.
• Design, governance, administration, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance of compensation programs.
• Develop compensation strategies aligning incentives with organizational goals.
• Lead complex analyses and develop executive-level reporting, financial models, and business cases.
• Influence senior leaders and manage cross-functional teams to drive implementation.
