Job summary

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a Project Manager (Non-Technical) to lead strategic projects that improve how customers plan trips, manage accounts, access information, and pay for transit. You will collaborate with teams across the Authority to deliver initiatives from mobile apps to digital fare products.

This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, stakeholder coordination, and delivering on-time program management in a complex public service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience analyzing business problems and coordinating business improvement projects in a large-scale organization.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and implementing complex, high- profile projects and programs.
• Experience with a transit organization or public service sector is a plus.
• PM Certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of project, programs and policy development duties, including conducting detailed issue and data analyses.
• Oversees all aspects of a project over the entire life-cycle and tracks deadlines.
• Develops familiarity with functional/business scope and project objectives.
• Develops and monitors strategic plans for assigned projects or programs.
• Reviews and responds to executive correspondence from officials and the public.
• Assists in policy development, procedures, goals, and outreach initiatives.
• Leads liaison between offices to resolve issues and provide resources.
• Implements strategies and best practices to meet agency goals.
