Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate base, intermediate, and complex projects on-site in New Albany, Ohio. You will direct planning, execution, monitoring, and closure with a focus on safety, budget, and value delivery, while communicating with stakeholders and promoting continuous improvement.

The role calls for strong knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, and risk management, with progression from SG7 to SG9 levels possible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years qualified experience; or 2-year Associate’s with 5+ years; or HS Diploma with 7+ years qualified experience.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required; valid state driver’s license required.
• Qualified experience includes outage management activities, project controls, cost estimating, and construction contracting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities using Waterfall and Agile methods.
• Ensure safety via AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm focus.
• Develop and manage project/outage plan, schedule and budget; manage funding reallocations.
• Communicate project status clearly in meetings and written/oral reports.
• Develop relationships with internal/external customers, vendors and partners; pursue customer satisfaction.
• Provide guidance and training to improve design, systems, procedures, schedules, and costs.
