Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC in South Boston, Virginia, is seeking a Project Financial Controller to partner with project managers and stakeholders. You will handle financial planning, budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis to drive profitable project outcomes.

You’ll ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and reporting standards; manage invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash flow; and contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of project controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 2+ years in a multinational environment or Master’s degree with 2+ years.
Strong knowledge of financial functions in engineering/manufacturing industries.
Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and planning skills.
Familiarity with SAP Project Module.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, CPIM) or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and analyze financial performance reports, including earned value analysis.
Manage invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash flow for projects.
Support project managers with data-driven financial insights.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and contractual obligations.
Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives.
Drive continuous improvement of project control processes and tools.
