Pepperdine University is seeking a Strategic Project Coordinator (Temporary) on the Malibu Campus to support capital planning initiatives. The role partners with the Vice President, manages complex projects, drafts key communications, and coordinates internal and external stakeholders and consultants to ensure timely execution.

Responsibilities include organizing meetings, preparing executive summaries, and guiding project direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Construction, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a professional demeanor, and meet required deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize Pepperdine systems and software, including our Project Management Information System (PMIS), Kahua
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Manage project-related workflows, identify issues, and recommend solutions to ensure the smooth execution of strategic goals.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings and develop agendas based on project priorities.
  • Prepare executive summaries and presentations on the status of various departmental efforts and capital projects.
  • Represent the Vice President in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and making recommendations that influence project direction and outcomes.
  • Perform a broad range of administrative tasks, including maintain files, track paperwork, and review project notifications.
  • Research, prepare, and present reports and presentations as requested.
  • Provide customer service to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in higher education and/or design and construction

This is a Restricted, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $88,500 - $104,000 per year

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package .
