Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager to join our US Project Operations team. This role can be remote within the United States with hybrid flexibility, preferably near EST office locations.

You will partner with directors and leaders to improve financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and decision making using Deltek Vantagepoint, Power BI, and Excel. You will drive dashboards, reporting, and governance, while coaching teams on forecasting, invoicing, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in project controls, project finance, commercial management, or project operations.
• Experience within architecture, engineering, consulting, design, planning, construction, or other project-based professional services environments.
• Deep working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint: project setup, financial management, forecasting, planning, billing, reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Certifications like PMP, PMI-SP, CCP, CPA, CMA are desirable.
• Ability to communicate complex financial and operational concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to review project financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead project and portfolio reviews focused on profitability, forecasting, invoicing, and debt management.
• Analyze variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Deltek Vantagepoint: billing, forecasting, and project finance workflows.
• Improve data quality, reporting consistency, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop dashboards, reports, templates, and management materials using Deltek Vantagepoint, Excel, and Power BI.
• Drive process improvements and adoption of automation and AI-enabled reporting.
